Enchilada Sauce

This recipe is so much better than any sauce you can buy in the store. It takes a couple of minutes of hands on time and 15 minutes to simmer. So good!

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbs olive oil
  • 2 Tbs flour
  • 3 Tbs chili powder I buy it in bulk
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cup chicken stock

Instructions

  • Add the oil and flour to a pan and bring to a boil on medium heat
  • Add the spices to the pan and cook for about 2 minutes while whisking
  • Pour in the broth all at once while whisking continuously
  • Add the apple cider vinegar, reduce to low and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Use as you would a canned sauce for enchiladas. Makes approximately 2 cups.

Notes

This recipe freezes well.
