Lasagna
Sometimes you just need to get something on the table. This yummy recipe taste like you have been slaving away all day long. I use a couple of "fast foods" to pull this recipe together. First is the no bake lasagna sheets, and second is Mezzetta Spicy Marinara sauce. No other will do, I have yet to serve this and not have someone ask me about my homemade sauce recipe! If you have to buy marinara this is the one.
Ingredients
- 1 lb spicy Italian sausage
- 1 carrot
- 1 small yellow onion
- 1 stalk celery
- 1 lb baby bella mushrooms
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- olive oil
- 1 pkg no cook lasagna noodles
- 1 16 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 jars Mezzetta spicy marinara
- 3 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1 cup shredded parmesan
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella
Instructions
- Mince or purée carrots, celery, and onion.
- Add oil to skillet, add minced vegetables, and sauté.
- Add sausage and brown, midway through browning add mushrooms and dry seasoning. Cook through.
- Starting with sauce, layer sauce, pasta, ricotta, Parmesan, and shredded mozzarella. I do three layers. Top with sauce cover and cook at 350 for 35-40 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of Shredded mozzarella for top.
- Pull out, remove cover, and top with additional shredded mozzarella and chopped fresh mozzarella. Bake until the cheese is melted.
- Allow to rest for 5-10 minutes
