Biscuits and Gravy
This Sausage Gravy is dear to my heart, I remember standing next to my Grandmother as she would make this for breakfast for us every time we went to visit. To this day this recipe is by far my favorite for biscuits and Gravy. It's simple real food that taste great!
Ingredients
- 1 lb spicy breakfast sausage (you can use regular if you prefer)
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown the sausage on medium heat
- Add the flour and cook for about 4 minutes, stirring regularly
- Using a whisk, pour the milk into the sausage mixture all at once and whisk until all of the milk has been incorporated, continue to whisk as the gravy thickens
- Add the salt and pepper, taste. We make our gravy, pepper heavy, that's what makes it so good. Cook until it's the thickness that you like, you can add more milk to thin if needed
