Belgian Waffles
This waffle recipe is my go to for breakfast and dinner, I use arrow root powder instead of cornstarch as a healthier option. They hold up perfectly for chicken and waffles!
Ingredients
- 3/4 Cup Flour
- 1/4 Cup arrowroot
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 2 Eggs room temperature and yolks separated from whites
- 2 tbsp Melted Butter
- 1 Cup Buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
Instructions
- Heat waffle iron. Preheat oven to 200 degrees F.
- Combine flour, arrowroot, baking powder, salt, and sugar using.
- Beat the egg yolk, milk, vanilla and butter together.
- Combine wet ingredients to dry ingredients. Whisk until incorporated.
- Whisk the egg white until soft peaks form using an electric mixer.
- Carefully fold the egg whites into batter.
- Cook waffles according to your waffle maker.
- Place waffles directly on the oven racks until ready to serve.
