Apple Dump Cake

This apple dump cake is a nostalgic twist on a retro dessert. This version substitutes the cake mix for a simple homemade spice cake and utilizes apple pie filling to create a warm, fall-inspired dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 4 cups apple pie filling

Instructions

  • Butter an 8×8 pan and pre-heat oven to 350℉
  • Add all of the dry ingredients to a bowl and whisk well.
  • Pour the apple pie filling into the prepared pan.
  • Pour the flour mixture evenly over the apple pie filling.
  • Pour the melted butter evenly over the flour mixture.
  • Bake 35-40 minutes.
  • Allow to cool, serve warm with ice cream.
