In the first few GTG Podcasts we found ourselves often saying “we are so busy”.
It has really made me think about what that says about us and how it translates to other people. We fundamentally believe that we are created to bring order to chaos.
And the Lord God took the man, and put him in the garden of Eden to dress it and keep it. Genesis 2:15 KJV
I believe that God gives us opportunities to work alongside Him and then gives us the grace to accomplish whatever He places in front of us.
In 2012 we were planning on building a house, but the Lord took me down a rabbit trail and led us to a repossessed property out in the country. It was a dilapidated manufactured home on a very overgrown 5 acres. We saw chaos, but we had a strong feeling that this is where the Lord wanted us. We really didn’t see a farm, we saw a mess that had potential. We thought maybe some chickens, a well manicured lawn and possibly getting rid of the rundown manufactured home and building a new house on the existing foundation. Then Damon brought home a goat!!! And that began our farming journey. The Lord soon after put a vision in my heart to feed His people. Feed them physically, Feed them Spiritually and Feed their hearts.
In the book of John 21:15-18 Jesus was sitting with some disciples and 15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”
“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”
16 Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”
17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.
Feed them physically, Feed them Spiritually and Feed their hearts!
This started us on a journey to bring order to the chaos of our property and create a place that provides healthy food and a warm welcoming environment that was covered in prayer so that we could bring people to our table and feed them. Ministry is so much more than just being at church on Sunday. We are all called to minister to Gods people. Jesus tells us that our conversation should always be uplifting and that we should make the most of every opportunity to draw people closer to Him and closer to each other. And to always be ready to share your testimony of how God has changed your life.
